National Geographic Kids magazines’ Young Artists Competition has opened, with title sponsor Bostik on board for the second year.
The aim of the competition is to encourage readers to showcase their artistic talents and inspire kids to explore their creative potential.
NG KIDS editor, Fiona Thompson says, “The NG KIDS series of Young Competitions encourage our readers to participate in fun, interactive and educational initiatives that are designed to stimulate creativity at varying levels of age and ability. Our annual Young Artists Competition acts as a platform for aspiring young artists and provides them with the kind of exposure and prizes that will hopefully stimulate even more creative experiment.”
The competition has three categories:
1 – 3-D Sculpture
2 – Collage or Mixed Media
3 – Drawing and Painting
Children from the age of five to 14 years old can enter.
Nine winners will be chosen and will win from Bostik and Ster Kinekor Entertainment which include a Bostik Art Bag filled with Bostik inspired art equipment together with a Wii console and uDraw Game Tablet plus game software, valued at R3 700.
The school that sends in the most entries will receive a uDraw Game Tablet and prize package as well as art supplies worth R5 000 and three Art Bags from Bostik.
